自恋病态人格(Narcissistic personality disorder) (NPD)。美国精神病学协会的最新版精神疾病诊断与统计标准第四版(DSM--IV)列出此类患者的九条典型病症：
1，有自视过高的浮夸感觉，如：夸大成就和天赋，没有相应的成就，却期待被看作最优秀的。(has a grandiose sense of self-importance e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)
2，沉迷于无限制的成功、权力、才气、漂亮或理想爱情的幻想(is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love)
3，相信他(她)是“特别的”、独一无二的，只有其他的特别的或高地位人士、名流才能理解他(她)，或者与之属于同一层次。(believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions))
4，要求极度的赞赏。(requires excessive admiration)
5，自我感觉是特权者，如，无理由地期待特别的优待或对其(或其期望)自动服从(has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations)
6，利用人，如利用别人的成就来达到自己的目的。(is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends)
7，缺乏共情感，即不愿去认可、认同其他人的情感和需要。(lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others)
8，常常嫉妒他人或认为他人嫉妒自己。(is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her)
9，表现出高傲自大的行为或态度。(shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes)
上述九条，只要具备五条，即可被确诊为自恋病态人格。
